Job summary

Valiant Living, Inc. seeks a Day Services Direct Support Professional Relief to assist adults with developmental disabilities in their home setting.

You will implement plans, monitor health needs, support daily living, and maintain records. This part-time DSP relief position requires every-other-weekend rotation, open hours on weekdays, and a starting hourly wage of $15.50–$16.50, depending on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to complete ARSD training requirements within required time frames.
• Excellent problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; responds to communication in timely manner and reviews daily.
• Ability to read, write and speak English adequately to respond to individual's needs
• Ability to see and hear in order to make assessments.
• Valid driver's license and must be insurable by the agency insurance carrier.
• Ability to respond to emergencies in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to use the computer for required documentation, communication, scheduling and other assessments.
• Able to achieve CPR and First Aid, Medication Administration Certification, and Safety Care.
• Able to lift 50 to 60 lbs. and stand/walk for 75% of their shift.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Day Services Direct Support Professional Relief

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The DSP Relief will provide services and supports for adults with developmental disabilities in their home setting. Responsibilities include implementing programs as determined by the person's planning team, attending to health and medical needs, following general and specific behavior management practices, meal preparation, completing preventive maintenance/cleaning duties/laundry and maintaining accurate records of services provided. This position includes every other weekend as part of the rotation.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $15.50.00-$16.50 average hourly wage, depending on education and experience.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is part-time. There is no set schedule. This position will volunteer to work open hours during the weekdays in our Day Services program. Monday-Friday.
