Principal Function
The position will serve as a team member of the PCBC Day School. This role is responsible for maintaining all program standards including those of Park Cities Baptist Church, Texas Department of Health, and Human Services. The Teacher will work under the general supervision of the Lead Teacher and Day School Director, with some independence in judgment and action.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain student learning results through verbal feedback, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and assessing.
- Establish and adjust curriculum plans based on guidelines and assessments.
- Organize outdoor activities, such as games and gardening, for teaching opportunities.
- Maintain professional knowledge by being a member of the Early Childhood Christian Network.
- Assist the PreK lead teacher with recording and documenting learning and behavior.
- Support parents with academic updates, resources, and addressing concerns.
- Implement the PCBC Day School curriculum in collaboration with the Director.
- Stay updated on current trends in early childhood education.
- Obtain CPR and first aid certification every two years.
- Complete 24 hours of annual training as required by the Texas Health & Human Services Department.
- Maintain compliance with Texas Minimum Standards and Positive Guidance methods.
- Obtain a Food Handlers certification every two years.
- Ensure a safe, clean environment following COVID-19 protocols.
- Show respect and build positive relationships with children and adults.
- Prepare classroom resources daily.
- Document incidents and notify the Director promptly.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and a caring attitude towards children.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Other Requirements and Conditions
- Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines are highly recommended but not mandatory.
- Organizational skills to maintain an orderly environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, crawl, lift (up to 40 pounds), and assist children physically.
- Work primarily indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors and diverse learning styles.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Early Elementary Education.
- 1-3 years of experience in a preschool or early elementary setting.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with technology for teaching and training.
- Team-oriented work ethic.
