Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Day Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Riverside Regional Jail in North Prince George, VA. This role focuses on comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting.

You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and support physicians with procedures, while maintaining HIPAA and safety protocols. The position requires RN licensure and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Current CPR certificate required.
• Proficient with electronic medical records and documentation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care in a correctional setting.
• Assess physical, psychological, and social health and document admissions.
• Document triage decisions and communicate with health providers on discharge.
• Develop individual nursing care plans with health care providers.
• Implement medical care plans including tests and EKGs per physician orders.
• Administer medications using approved routes and manage diet plans.
• Assist physicians in medical or minor surgical procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assess physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients; obtain health history and provide a written assessment of patients upon admission.
• During custody and upon discharge, document and communicate triage decisions to the appropriate health care provider.
• Develop individual nursing care plans using nursing assessment protocols in consultation with health care providers.
• Implement medical care plans to include diagnostic tests, EKGs, etc., according to physician orders.
• Administer medications using proper techniques, procedures, and approved routes of administration; nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
• Assist physician in medical or minor surgical procedures as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certificate
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
