Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Riverside Regional Jail Authority in North Prince George, VA. You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, design treatment plans, and collaborate with onsite teams to support at-risk patients.

Qualifications include current state NP licensure in psychiatry, CPR certification, and at least two years in psychiatric or correctional care. Proficiency with EMR and background clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least two years in psychiatric or correctional healthcare.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Able to pass Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Performs psychiatric examinations and treatment planning using the POMR format.
• Collaborates with BHD/BHPs to identify appropriate treatment plans.
• Attends morning huddle calls for high-risk patients and multidisciplinary planning.
• Obtains patient histories and verifies medications; develops care plans.
• Coordinates activities of patient care and support staff.
• Contributes to developing mental health policies and procedures.
• Works with onsite Competency Restoration Program RBHA.

Responsibilities

• Performs psychiatric examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment follow-up consultation and health education
• Works closely with the BHD and/or BHPs in identifying appropriate treatment plans for at-risk patients, or as needed
• Intermittently attends morning huddle calls, when indicated and/or when there are high-risk patients that require multidisciplinary treatment planning and collaboration
• Obtains patient histories, follows up with medication verification efforts, reviews pertinent medical history and develops patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format
• Provides support in coordinating the activities of patient care and/or support staff
• Participates in developing specific mental health policies and procedures, when indicated
• Will be working closely with onsite Competency Restoration Program operated by RBHA

Qualifications

• Current state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• Current CPR certificate
• Two (2) years of experience in psychiatric and/or correctional healthcare setting
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
