Job summary

Sevita, a leading provider of home and community-based health care, is seeking a Recreation/Volunteer Coordinator for its Day Program in the United States. The role supports the Recreational Therapist, planning community outings and volunteering opportunities, while ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, six months in human services, a valid driver’s license, and a background check clearance.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in the human services field (paid or volunteer).
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid, non-probationary driver’s license with no restrictions or provisions.
• Successful background check clearance.
• Caring attitude and dedication to supporting others.
• Ability and willingness to safely bend and lift to assist clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and physical cares.
• Help transport clients to community outings and volunteer opportunities using company vehicles.
• Support wheelchair assistance and safe transportation.
• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation.
• Ensure overall safety and well-being of clients.
• Use proper lifting and bending techniques to physically support clients.

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Recreation/Volunteer Coordinator | Day Program Assistant

• Mon., Tues., Wed., Fri. | 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. | 32 hours/week
• 6 months previous experience required (technical, paid or volunteer)
• Starting Pay: $16/hour

Preliminary Requirements:

• Proof of valid driver’s license held for at least one year with good driving record
• Ability to attend orientation and training
