Job summary

CCS Facility Services is seeking a Day Porter to maintain the cleanliness of assigned office buildings and other facilities. You will perform routine cleaning tasks, spot-clean glass surfaces, vacuum elevator cabs, and ensure restrooms stay orderly.

The role includes weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with responsibilities to report safety issues and assist building engineers as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial janitorial services.
• Ability to perform weekend shifts.
• Must follow safety procedures and use cleaning equipment properly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain common areas in office buildings, apartments, or commercial facilities.
• Spot clean lobby glass doors and polish chrome on lobby doors.
• Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice daily.
• Inspect exterior and pick up litter; empty exterior trash receptacles.
• Clean ashtrays and sand urns on each floor; report issues to Management.
• Check restrooms and replenish supplies; maintain cleanliness.
• Vacuum lobby daily and sweep stairwells as needed.
• Remove debris from landscaped areas and sweep entrances.
• Remove marks from walls/doors; report lighting outages to Management.
• Polish elevator rails, doors, and lobby call buttons; assist building Engineer.
• Policing lobby area during high-traffic times as required.
• Document and report any safety concerns or hazardous conditions.
• Respond to cleaning requests from Management with timely action.
• Work schedule includes recurring weekend shifts (Sat/Sun).

Job Details:

A Day porter is responsible for maintaining common areas of office buildings, apartment houses, or other commercial or institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Spot clean the lobby glass doors
• Polish chrome on lobby doors
• Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
• Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
• Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
• Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
• Check restrooms twice daily
• Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
• Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
• Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
• Sweep building entrances
• Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
• Report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
• Report any solicitors to the Management Office
• Where applicable, police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc. Policing should be scheduled at high-traffic times each day.
• Empty all trash receptacles
• Vacuum carpeted floors
• Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
• Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
• Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion

Work Environment:

Work Schedule: This position requires availability every Saturday and Sunday for a 4-hour shift from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
