Job summary

Advanced Building Maintenance, Inc. seeks a dependable Janitor to help keep commercial and medical buildings clean, safe, and inviting for occupants and visitors.

You will perform routine cleaning tasks, sanitize restrooms, mop floors, empty trash, and assist with setup for meetings and events, working with the facilities team to address issues and ensure infection control standards are met.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
• Understanding of infection control practices and sanitary environments.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Physical stamina for lifting and being on feet for long periods.
• Ability to work day and evening shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting of common areas.
• Disinfect and sanitize high-touch surfaces in restrooms and spaces.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste per guidelines.
• Restock soap and paper supplies as needed.
• Monitor inventory and notify supervisor for reorders.
• Set up/clean meeting rooms and event spaces as required.
• Collaborate with maintenance to address cleanliness and safety issues.
• Follow safety protocols and assist with special projects.

The Janitor will ensure that our facility remains a welcoming and sanitary space for building occupants and visitors.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of all common areas, waiting rooms, hallways, and restrooms.Disinfect and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, light switches, and elevator buttons.Empty and properly dispose of trash and medical waste according to established guidelines.Refill dispensers for soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.Assist with setting up and cleaning meeting rooms and event spaces as necessary.Collaborate with maintenance and facility teams to address any issues related to building cleanliness and safety.Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.Other tasks and projects requested by the customer and/or Advanced Building Maintenance, Inc team.QualificationsPrevious janitorial or custodial experience.Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness standards.Understanding of infection control practices and the importance of maintaining a sanitary environment.Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.Flexibility to work during both day and evening shifts as required.Health Screenings & Other Requirements (if applicable)Background checks will be conducted in accordance with applicable lawPhysical/ Health Screen Pre-PlacementOSHA Respiratory Questionnaire and Respirator Fit Test QualitativeDrug Screen (10 Panel)Covid-19 Vaccines: 1st Dose/2nd Dose/ Booster, Influenza Immunization, TB Skin TestTDAP Vaccine, MMR Titers, Varicella Titers/ Antibody, Hepatitis B Titers/ AntibodyWe are committed to the safety and well-being of our associates and patients.
