The Day Porter provides responsive daytime custodial support at the Strawberry Plains Campus during occupied hours. The position handles urgent cleaning requests, work orders, restrooms, high-traffic areas, events, and other general cleaning assignments while maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm (schedule subject to change)

- Provide daytime coverage to handle urgent cleaning requests, work orders, and general cleaning assignments as directed by the Janitorial Services Coordinator or Premiere supervision.
- Continuously monitor and clean high-traffic areas, entrances, lobbies, corridors, hallways, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, offices, vending areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces during occupied hours.
- Respond promptly to spills, bodily-fluid incidents, weather-related tracking, urgent service calls, and other immediate cleaning needs using required PPE and procedures.
- Check, clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms throughout the day; maintain high-touch surfaces using applicable clinical-cleaning procedures.
- Empty trash; transport waste to designated collection areas or dumpsters; handle only properly discarded or clearly identified material.
- Perform routine cleaning duties as time allows, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, spot cleaning, glass cleaning, water-fountain cleaning, and surface disinfection.
- Maintain custodial closets, carts, supplies, tools, and equipment in a clean, neat, orderly, sanitary, and secure condition.
- Follow all company and campus safety, security, conduct, and reporting expectations while performing assigned work.
- Use assigned keys, access credentials, equipment, and campus property responsibly and in accordance with training and site procedures.
- Maintain professional conduct while on campus and interact appropriately with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and client representatives.
- Promptly report injuries, unsafe conditions, damage, security concerns, supply shortages, equipment issues, service deficiencies, and incomplete work to the supervisor.
- Use only approved and properly labeled cleaning products; follow Safety Data Sheets, PPE requirements, equipment instructions, and applicable company and campus procedures.
Events and Campus Support
- Provide day-porter coverage for events at any assigned campus; report upon arrival to the on-site event representative or Janitorial Services Coordinator.
- Assist with event setup and breakdown when requested, clean spills and messes during events, check restrooms at least every 30 minutes, remove trash as needed, and complete post-event cleaning of all used areas.
- Wear clean uniform clothing in good condition, non-slip closed-toe shoes, and a company identification badge; maintain professional grooming and hygiene and avoid scented lotions, perfume, or cologne during event assignments.
- Do not accept items offered at events unless email documentation authorizes acceptance.
