Job summary

Velociti Services seeks a reliable Porter to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep of assigned facilities and surrounding grounds. You will perform routine cleaning, waste removal, material transport, and facility support tasks to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for occupants and visitors.

Responsibilities include cleaning entrances, lobbies, restrooms, and common areas; handling trash; restocking supplies; and reporting maintenance or safety concerns to management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in porter/janitorial/facilities is preferred.
• Customer-facing experience is a plus.

Job Description

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of assigned facilities and surrounding grounds. This position provides essential support to building operations by performing routine cleaning, waste removal, material transport, and facility support tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for occupants and visitors.

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of building entrances, lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and common areas.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of trash and recycling throughout the facility.
• Clean and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning.
• Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns to management.
• Assist with furniture movement, event setup, and special projects as needed.
• Remove debris and litter from building grounds, parking areas, and exterior walkways.
• Clean glass surfaces, doors, and windows within reach.
• Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, and customer service requests.
• Maintain supply inventories and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous porter, janitorial, custodial, facilities, or general labor experience preferred.
• Customer-facing experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in commercial buildings, office complexes, educational facilities, healthcare environments, residential communities, transportation hubs, or other public facilities.
