Job summary

The Ruby Slipper Cafe in Lafayette, LA is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our daytime kitchen. You will accurately and efficiently prepare hot food, portion ingredients, and help plate dishes for service.

We value kitchen discipline, clean work areas, and clear communication with managers and front-of-house Krewe members. Minimum 1 year of kitchen cooking experience required; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members.
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products and portion food prior to cooking.
• Responsible for plating and garnishing cooked items and preparing garnishes for all hot dishes.
• Follow Ruby Standards and recipes to maintain quality and portion control.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and cooperate with kitchen staff.
