Job summary

Great River Care Center in Iowa is seeking a registered nurse to serve as Charge Nurse on days. The role requires supervising direct resident care, reporting on intake and handoffs, and ensuring adherence to facility policies while coordinating with physicians and families.

The position offers RN compensation of $40–$42.50 per hour, with a $4 shift differential after 2pm and $5 extra for weekend hours, plus a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Iowa licensure and CPR renewal are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Licensure/certification in the state of Iowa required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Follow established standards of nursing practice and implement facility policies and procedures.
• Interpret existing policies and procedures to Resident Care Technicians, residents, families and physicians.
• Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
• Receive report from the nurse you are relieving and record sufficient information to implement follow-up action as necessary.
• Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary.
• Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to the charge nurse or Director of Nursing, if necessary, and initiate corrective action.
• Identify resident problems, emergency situations and respond appropriately within the Quality of Life Policies of Healthcare of Iowa.
• Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action.
• Follow, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of the Resident’s Rights Program.
• Provide clinical supervision of CNA's giving direct resident care.

Job description

5am-5pm three days a week, including every third weekend and every other holiday. Nursing Home Charge Nurse.

Compensation: RN: $40-$42.50. LPN: $28-$30.50.

Shift differential: $4.00 additional starting at 2pm. $5.00 additional for hours worked Saturday/Sunday.
