Job summary

WWAARC is seeking a full-time Day Habilitation Floor Supervisor in Slingerlands, NY to support individuals in our Day Hab & Respite/Drop-In program. The schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with a 30-minute lunch, and compensation is $21.00 per hour plus longevity.

The role involves assisting management to meet program needs, transporting participants as needed, and coordinating activities to enhance communication and independence in both on-site and community settings.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license that meets WWAARC insurability standards. A strong driving history preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of individual and agency information.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• 1-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead staff.
• Demonstrate effective decision making and problem solving skills.
• Must be empathetic, compassionate, patient and reliable.
• Must have sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to communicate effectively with people supported and team members and to complete required documentation in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, which include activities such as lifting and/or moving items up to 50 pounds, twisting/bending, positioning self as needed to complete tasks, and movement within the classroom and/or throughout the building for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• The Floor Supervisor assists management in ensuring the program’s needs, routine and requirements are met.
• Transport people we support to/from the program as well as within the community.
• Coordinate recreational and other activities to support engagement and skill development.
• Assist the Day Hab & Respite/Drop-In program to help people we support develop communication and interpersonal skills both on-site and in the community.
