Job summary

Waukee Community School District is seeking a Day Custodian for WHS in Waukee, IA. The role involves daily cleaning, stocking supplies, and basic facility maintenance to ensure a safe school environment.

The position requires effective communication with students and staff and may include after-hours duties. Starting immediately, applicants should have a high school diploma (preferred) and custodial experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Custodial experience 0-2 years required, 3-5 years preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, building administrators, co-workers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily building tasks: vacuuming, trash removal, stocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, floor cleaning, restroom and lunchroom cleanup.
• Clean up spills promptly (including bodily fluids).
• Verify evening schedule and print for night staff.
• Maintain safe walkways with snow removal equipment in winter.
• Assist with unlocking doors, minor equipment repair, and moving materials as per work orders.
