US Foods in Perth Amboy, NJ is seeking a Yard Jockey CDL to join our logistics team. You will coordinate with dispatchers and mechanics to ensure safe, efficient trailer movements, coupling and preparation for nightly shuttle operations, and accurate loading/unloading between facilities.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A, at least 21 years old, and a minimum of six months of commercial driving experience. English communication skills are essential for daily operations and safety reporting.

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of residence with DOT qualifications.
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.

As a Yard Jockey CDL, you’ll be at the heart of operations, expertly coordinating the movement and management of trailers. Your effective communication and proactive approach will be key in collaborating with Dispatchers, Warehouse Supervisors, and mechanics to maintain seamless workflow and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunicate & Collaborate: Coordinate with Dispatchers for assignments and work with mechanics on equipment needs.Couple & Prepare: Ensure equipment is coupled, ready for use, and prepared for nightly shuttle operations.Move & Load: Safely relocate, load, and unload trailers between buildings and environments.Stage & Set Up: Configure trailers for backhaul and position them for quick unloading.Engage: Attend required meetings and adapt to additional duties as necessary, ensuring a safe work environment.Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.Physical RequirementsLift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects.
