Overview

Position: Day Camp Counselor

Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA

Availability: Accepting resumes now

Schedule: Seasonal - 8:00AM - 4:45PM (June 16 – August 9, 2025), 40 hours, M-F

Reporting Relationship: After School and Day Camp Manager/Day Camp Coordinator

Salary & Grade: $15.00

Responsibilities

Position Description: The Day Camp Counselor will implement daily program activities as set by the Lead Counselor, supervise assigned campers, serve as a positive role model, and participate in all programmatic aspects of the Day Camp. The counselor will perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Counselor, Camp Coordinator, or ASPDC Manager.

Qualifications

Requirements: Ability to work well with staff and parents, assist in daily operations, supervise children, participate in all camp activities including devotional, recreational, performing arts, swim, and other educational programs. Promote positive interactions, ensure a safe environment by enforcing policies, and respond to directions from supervisors. Must complete Child Abuse Clearances (PA Child Abuse History, PA State Police Criminal Record, FBI Fingerprint Check). Must understand and appreciate The Salvation Army's mission.
