Bartender responsibilities

Responsibilities include preparing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to recipes, service standards, and applicable laws; taking orders and responding to guest requests; and maintaining bar stations, tools, glassware, and equipment. The Bartender stocks supplies, prepares garnishes and ingredients, monitors inventory, and reports shortages or equipment concerns to a manager. This role may process payments, maintain accurate tabs, and assist with opening and closing duties.

Bar teamwork and service

The Bartender coordinates with barbacks, servers, managers, and other team members to ensure accurate, timely service and an organized bar. This role communicates clearly during busy periods, responds courteously to guest feedback, and helps maintain a respectful environment. The Bartender verifies identification when required, monitors guest alcohol consumption, follows responsible alcohol service procedures, and does not serve guests who are underage or appear intoxicated.

Work may involve standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying supplies, and working evenings, weekends, holidays, or high-volume service periods. The Bartender is expected to follow workplace safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and company procedures at all times.
