Job summary

Monks is seeking a Data Engineer with a strong DataOps focus to join our team in Cupertino, CA on a contract basis. You will embed with a global client account and own end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring reliability and data quality across production environments.

The role requires on-site presence in Cupertino, with a hybrid schedule (3 days/week on-site: Tue–Thu). The ideal candidate has 5+ years of data engineering or data-centric software experience, strong SQL, and a solid toolkit including

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience (or Software Engineering with a strong data focus).
• Expert-level SQL.
• Experience with lakehouse architectures and data platform modernization.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines from diverse data sources.
• Own workflow orchestration and operational health of data products using Airflow (SLIs/SLOs).
• Develop reusable architectures and contribute to shared utilities and validation practices.
