Job summary

Largeton Group in Reston, VA seeks a Mid-Senior IT Engineer for DataDog administration and infrastructure monitoring. Contract role requiring 8+ years IT experience and 3+ years with DataDog; hybrid work with 2x onsite meetings monthly.

You will manage DataDog APM, central logging with ELK, and end-user monitoring; ensure production issues are resolved and logs are centralized. Required skills include Java, Tomcat, Linux (Red Hat), scripting in Python/Shell/Ansible, and AWS knowledge; on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on IT Engineering experience, with at least 3 years in DataDog.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Tomcat, Linux (Red Hat), ELK stack, and cloud awareness.

Responsibilities

• Location: Reston, VA (Monthly Hybrid - 2x per month onsite meetings)
• Key Responsibilities: DataDog Administration, Network Monitoring, Infrastructure/Server Monitoring, Configuring centralized logging of all logs, Managing DataDog APM tool, Setting up End User Monitoring, Providing support to all significant production issues.
• Qualification: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on IT Engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with DataDog (backend administration support role)
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Java, Tomcat web servers, Linux platform (Red Hat), Log Management experience with ELK Stack, Experience with Network Monitoring, Automation experience with scripting (Python, Shell, ANSIBLE), Any AWS Cloud knowledge.
• Other Requirements: Candidates must be able to attend meetings onsite (Reston VA or Wash DC) 1-2 times per month.
