Job summary

A leading technology solutions provider in Waltham is seeking a Data Center Support Technician to provide hands and feet support for data center operations. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining servers, troubleshooting hardware issues, and assisting remote data center management teams. The ideal candidate should be experienced with data center equipment and ticketing systems, ensuring optimal functionality and support. Responsibilities

• Provide hands and feet support for data center operations.
• Install and maintain servers and network devices.
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Replace parts like power supplies, switch modules, and blade components in chassis.
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting.
• Support data center management teams located remotely with maintenance activities.
• Experience with consoles, KVM, Remote Site gateways, etc.
• Prepare and maintain data center inventory.
• Create and maintain rack elevation diagrams.
• Escort and assist third party engineers entering the data center.
• Experience in using ticketing systems.
• Daily walk-through and reporting on abnormalities observed.

Job description

• To provide End to End Hands and Feet support.
• Install and maintain servers and network devices and other data center equipment
• Racking, stacking, and cabling of network devices, servers and blade enclosures and other data center appliances
• Replacement of parts like power supplies, switch modules, replacement of blade in chassis
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting
• Support data center management teams located remotely with maintenance activities by providing hands and feet support
• Experience with consoles, KVM, Remote Site gateways etc.
• Prepare and maintain data center inventory
• Create and maintain rack elevation diagrams
• Escort and assist third party engineers coming into the data center
• Experience in using ticketing systems
• Daily walk through and reporting on any abnormalities observed.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
