Qualifications

• Diploma/Certification or Associate or Bachelor's Degree in related field (or equivalent experience).
• Min 2+ years in an electronic or testing lab (silicon bring-up, board-level design/validation, or system design/validation).
• Experience with high power and liquid cooling in a data center.
• Fundamental knowledge of computing architectures and hardware/software debugging; strong board bring-up and customer support.
• Experience with Linux command line.
• Good attention to detail plus clear written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, build and install bench top development platforms and large datacenter server systems; perform assembly/disassembly and mechanical reworks.
• Run system tests; collect and report testing results; screen modules/boards for validation and debug.
• Connect oscilloscope probes to boards and collect signal waveform data.
• Maintain and organize lab equipment; support lab shipping, receiving, and inventory.

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Engineering Lab (Data Center) Technician in the System Products Team to support datacenter products. This newest member will collaborate with an innovative multidisciplinary extraordinary team of engineers to help build and develop our industry leading AI CPU and GPU accelerated computing products. This role will maintain and debug lab systems involving sophisticated system level hardware and software. System level performance testing is accomplished using industry leading Deep Learning/AI applications. In this role you will gain a deep understanding of datacenter products as we take on the challenge to solve complex technical issues, so there will be plenty of opportunity for learning new skills related to datacenter products and infrastructure. The primary responsibility is to support our engineering teams during development to ensure outstanding quality products may be released to the market and delight our customers can achieve their professional aspirations using NVIDIA technology. The new lab team member will work independently to complete daily tasks according to priorities, demonstrate a passion towards system level product quality, and should be comfortable in the lab environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• Diploma/Certification, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in related field (or equivalent experience)
• Min 2+ years of hands-on experience in an electronic or testing lab in the areas of silicon bringup, board-level design/validation, or system design/validation.
• Experience with high power and liquid cooling in a data center
• Fundamental knowledge of computing architectures and relevant hands-on hardware/software debug experience. Solid system-level debugging experience & familiarity with board bring-up and customer support.
• Experience with Linux command line operation.
• Good attention to detail, as well as clear written and verbal communications.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated basic networking knowledge and server maintenance.
• Competence to perform simple solder reworks. Ability to follow a schematic for debugging components on a board.
• Experience with ARM/x86 architectures and accelerated GPU computing.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assemble, build and install bench top development platforms and large datacenter server systems. Perform assembly/disassembly and mechanical reworks involving power tools such as a Dremel. Prepare boards for detailed solder reworks to be completed by another lab.
• Run system tests. Collect and report on testing results. Screen modules and boards as part of validation testing and debug.
• Connect oscilloscope probes to boards and collect signal waveform data.
• Maintain and organize the lab equipment for efficiency and continuously look for ways to improve lab processes. Support lab shipping & receiving logistics and manage inventory of equipment and materials.
