Job summary

SISL Global is seeking a Data Center Technician in Abernathy, TX to perform break-fix repairs, installation, testing, and structured cabling across servers, switches, routers, and storage equipment. You will support network operations, monitor alerts, and maintain asset records.

The role requires 2-3+ years of hands-on data center experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work 24/7 including weekends and holidays. Physical lifting up to 50 lbs is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform break-fix repair and replacement of servers, switches, routers, optics, and storage equipment.
• Handle hardware/software installation, configuration, cabling, and testing.
• Perform structured cabling termination and MAC activities for copper and fiber.
• Install racks, cabinets, and enclosures; prepare, stage, and energize equipment.
• Provide network operations support, including connectivity troubleshooting and system-level diagnosis.
• Monitor infrastructure alerts and respond promptly to incidents.
• Conduct proactive infrastructure inspections and report potential hazards.
• Maintain accurate asset and cable-management records using Fluidstack-specified tools.
• Draft and maintain SOPs/MOPs.
• Mentor L1 personnel when required.
• Be available to work any shift on a 24/7 basis, including weekends and holidays.

• Monitor infrastructure alerts and respond promptly to incidents.
• Conduct proactive infrastructure inspections and report potential hazards.

• Mentor L1 personnel when required.

Requirements

• 2-3+ years of hands-on Data Center experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with structured cabling and protocols such as Ethernet, Fiber, DWDM/CWDM, and MPLS, as applicable.
• Familiarity with BMS/EPMS.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible to work 24/7 shifts, including weekends and holidays.
