We are currently seeking an experienced, customer-focused, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to join our client's evolving Data Center (DC) Team. The DC Engineer plays a crucial role in daily DC operations and contributes to the new DC build in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with hardware rack & stack and OS installations as part of the new data center build.
2. Provision layer 1 network connections and perform basic testing to confirm first hop connectivity.
3. Coordinate with the ITAMS team to receive and maintain inventory.
4. Ensure all data center resources are monitored, accessible, and provide automated alerts when issues occur.
5. Manage hot spares for all production hosts and services.
6. Perform intermediate remote troubleshooting of hardware, OS, and network issues.
7. Track rack space and power utilization, and record data centrally.
8. Conduct daily inspections and proactively report issues to asset owners.
9. Create and maintain detailed documentation related to the above tasks.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in a mission-critical data center environment.
2. Knowledge of data center, network, and compute deployments at scale.
3. Experience with data center design and layout.
4. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and vendors on infrastructure requirements.
5. Working knowledge of SNMP, rPDUs, UPS systems, and client systems.
6. Excellent time management and communication skills.
7. Intermediate networking knowledge, including topology and protocols.
8. Admin skills in managing Windows and Linux systems.
9. Experience in creating and maintaining setup diagrams, system handovers, and inventory documentation.
10. Experience with hardware installation, troubleshooting, and parts replacement.
11. Ability to take ownership of complex tasks and see them through to completion.
12. Availability for off-hour and weekend maintenance activities.
