Datacenter Inventory and Asset Technicians

Overview: As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT), you will perform cycle audits, execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors, and document inbound and outbound deliveries as instructed by management. You will initiate warranty claims and process returns on failed equipment. This opportunity allows you to build knowledge of inventory management, warranty process management, data bearing device destruction, and advance your career. Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DIAT, you will play a key role in delivering core infrastructure and technologies for services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. Responsibilities
  1. Safety Practices: Comply with security and data management policies, escalate incidents, coordinate security escorts, and perform Task Hazard Analysis (THA) for all tasks.
  2. Tactical Shift Management: Perform assigned tasks, escalate issues during high-volume periods, and seek guidance from management as needed.
  3. Inbound and Outbound Logistics: Document packages, execute deliveries, ensure accurate records, and apply customs documentation standards.
  4. Customer Service: Understand the impact of work, complete IAM tasks accurately, and maintain strong customer focus in line with contractual and industry standards.
  5. Inventory Management: Develop knowledge of stock control, perform cycle audits, reconcile discrepancies, and manage material movements.
  6. Warranty Process Management: Initiate warranty claims, process failed hardware, and adhere to SLAs for RMA procedures.
  7. Data Bearing Device Destruction: Follow policies for DBD destruction, ensure serial number matching, and maintain documentation.
  8. Procurement: Notify management of stock shortages and escalate issues.
  9. Operational Excellence: Follow procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  10. Other: Embody company culture and values.
