Job summary

CBTS is seeking a detail‑oriented Data Center Analyst for a 6–12 month contract in New Jersey. The role is fully onsite at Totowa, Piscataway, or Somerset, with a home base at one site and coverage at others as needed.

You will handle asset tracking, inventory management, shipping/receiving, workspace organization, and basic hardware tasks under established procedures.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, with occasional overtime; pay is $45.00/hr W‑2.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day logistics operations, including asset tracking, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and general organization.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, asset movements, equipment status, and related documentation.
• Conduct inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies in asset management systems.
• Organize storage areas, staging spaces, and work areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
• Handle disposal of packaging, boxes, and other materials to keep operational spaces orderly.
• Procure, restock, and track data center hardware, supplies, and consumables in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Follow documented procedures for receiving, labeling, documenting, storing, and moving equipment.
• Assist with basic hardware handling tasks such as moving equipment, labeling components, tracing cables, rack and stack activities, or supporting simple part swaps as directed.
• Update ticketing systems, asset records, inventory tools, and other documentation accurately.
• Identify and report basic equipment, inventory, or process issues to senior data center staff.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ways to improve workflow, organization, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

It also includes basic hands‑on support for hardware‑related tasks such as cabling, labeling, moving, and handling equipment under established procedures. The role offers exposure to current technology, data center infrastructure, and operational processes, making it a good opportunity for someone interested in building experience in technical operations, infrastructure, or related areas.

This position plays an important role in keeping data center operations organized, efficient, and well-supported. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a structured operational setting. We would prefer candidates to have approximately 2 years of experience working in a data center environment as a Data Center Analyst.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping/receiving, procurement support, or a data center analyst.
• Experience with asset management systems, inventory tools, ticketing systems, or similar operational platforms.
• Exposure to basic server or hardware handling in a technical environment.
• Interest in building experience in data center operations, infrastructure, IT logistics, or related technical operations.
• Prior experience with, or willingness to learn, data center fiber and copper cable installations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move hardware, boxes, and materials as needed.
• Comfortable working in a large building or data center environment.
