Data Center Technician – Onsite (Carteret, NJ)
Duration: 6‑month contract (with potential to extend or convert)

We’re seeking a Data Center Technician to join our Carteret, NJ facility — someone who can handle asset management, inventory control, and operational support in a fast‑paced, high‑performance data environment.
What You’ll Do
Primary Responsibilities (Asset Management & Inventory):
- Manage and track IT hardware assets and components across the data center.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the asset management system.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing equipment with vendors and internal teams.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and storage of all assets.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Collaborate with vendors on RMA orders and asset lifecycle planning.
Secondary Responsibilities (Technical & Network Support):
- Assist engineers with network operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Support installation, monitoring, and upgrades of network communication systems.
- Collect and analyze network traffic data to assist with routing and capacity planning.
- Perform basic technical troubleshooting and document resolutions.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Associate degree or certificate in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 0–2 years in a data center, IT operations, or inventory/asset management role.
Skills
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with asset and inventory management systems.
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure (IP, WAN, switches, routers).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
- Comfortable with hands‑on physical tasks (installing or moving equipment).
