Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Columbus, OH is seeking a Data Engineer to support ITDM Modernization and the Enterprise Data Lakehouse. This hybrid role requires in-office presence two days per week and candidates must be within a commutable distance to Columbus.

You will design and optimize Databricks pipelines, write Python/SQL data transformations, and ensure data quality across a scalable lakehouse while collaborating with engineers, product managers, architects, and stakeholders to

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on Databricks, Delta Lake, Python and SQL experience.
• Experience building enterprise data pipelines and lakehouse or data-platform solutions.
• Understanding of data quality, data modeling, performance optimization, and production operations.
• Able to communicate clearly and work in an Agile team to translate needs into maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Databricks and Delta Lake data pipelines for ITDM data into the Enterprise Data Lakehouse.
• Develop Python and SQL transformations, data models, and data-quality checks.
• Establish scalable lakehouse patterns for ingestion, harmonization, and downstream consumption.
• Collaborate with Altoids engineers, product managers, architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate ITDM needs into solutions.
• Troubleshoot pipeline and data-quality issues and contribute to monitoring and production support.
• Create reusable engineering patterns and documentation to strengthen the EDL foundation.
