Ohio Machinery Co. in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse environments, focusing on semantic models and governed datasets to support BI and analytics.

The role requires collaboration with internal analysts, project leaders, and third‑party vendors, using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and Power BI to deliver robust data solutions.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience in information technology.
• Related industry certifications are expected.
• Strong knowledge of API Integration & Development.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse).
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services (ADLS, Synapse, ADF, Databricks).
• Strong SQL development expertise.
• Experience with SharePoint or similar tools.
• Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines.
• Build Fabric Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, and OneLake storage layers.
• Develop Fabric Data Pipelines (Data Factory) for ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and automation.
• Create and optimize Spark notebooks for ETL/ELT workloads.
• Implement medallion architecture within Fabric.
• Collaborate with BI/reporting teams to ensure performant data models.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, monitoring, and observability.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure governance.
