Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Data and Analytics Engineer to design, deliver, and operate end-to-end data products for a DOE client. The role focuses on migrating on-prem SQL Server/SSIS workloads to an AWS-hosted Databricks platform while modernizing the legacy estate and developing for the target platform.

You will balance rapid data requests with building governed analytics solutions, using Git-based collaboration, automated testing, and CI/CD to deliver reusable data products

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience, including ownership of production data products.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience owning data products through design, implementation, testing, release, support, and enhancement.
• Experience leading technical workstreams and mentoring other practitioners without formal management authority.

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy workloads to a Databricks-based data platform and build scalable ingestion pipelines.
• Design Bronze/Silver/Gold data layers with contracts, quality gates, lineage, and promotion logic.
• Write and optimize production SQL and Python; create reusable transformation logic and automation.
• Develop consumption products such as dashboards, APIs, or governed analytics experiences.
• Embed data quality checks, tests, and telemetry into every data product and use AI to accelerate delivery judiciously.
