Job summary

Creative Information Technology Inc (CITI) seeks a seasoned Database Management Specialist for a remote role supporting the State of Maryland. The candidate will ensure database reliability, perform backups, upgrades, security, and tuning for Oracle and SQL Server environments.

Requires 7+ years of DBMS experience, strong Oracle architecture knowledge, and familiarity with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards. A CS/IS/Engineering degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Ensure operational reliability, integrity and performance of all production databases.
• Back-up and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning.
• Install and upgrade databases, ensure security of confidential data.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and apply patches.
• Analyze business needs, write reporting requirements, and deliver solutions.
• Assist users in writing complex queries and reports.
• At least seven (7) years of experience in using current DBMS technologies and design.
• Seven (7) years of experience in DBMS systems analysis and programming.
• Experience with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards (Level A/AA).
• Strong understanding of Oracle architecture.
• Extensive Oracle DBA experience including patching and backups.
• Experience implementing Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2022 and newer.
• Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of related experience in a technical field.

Role and Responsibilities

Our Client State of Maryland is looking for seasoned Database Management Specialist, this is a Remote role.

• Ensure the operational reliability, integrity and performance of all production databases.
• Perform back-up and recovery of existing databases, performance monitoring, and tuning.
• Perform database installations and upgrades and ensure the security of confidential data.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions along with periodic maintenance, fixes, and patches of databases.
• Perform analysis of business needs, write reporting requirements, and turn requirements into delivered solutions.
• Assist users in writing complex queries and reports.
• At least seven (7) years of experience in using current DBMS technologies, application design utilizing various database management systems and experience with DBMS internals.
• Must have seven (7) years of experience in DBMS systems analysis and programming.
• Knowledge of or at least one (1) year of experience in website development meeting accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 (at least Level A and AA)
• Strong understanding of Oracle architecture.
• Extensive experience as an Oracle DBA, including patching and creating backups using a variety of Oracle methods.
• Skilled in database performance tuning using different Oracle tools.
• Experience implementing Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and maintaining is required.
• Microsoft SQL Server 2022 and updated.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another related scientific or technical discipline -OR- Three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
