Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in the United States seeks a Senior Database Administrator to lead the performance, integrity, and security of our critical databases across the enterprise. This role drives upgrades, patches, and change management while ensuring data protection and license compliance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production systems, mentor junior DBAs, and manage vendor relationships, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in IT/CS or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience with 1–3 years in supervisory/leadership roles.
• Proven experience with database concepts, deployment, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Windows Server and SQL clustering.
• Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead database initiatives including upgrades and new technologies.
• Manage security, compliance, and data protection policies.
• Oversee incident management, SDLC, and change management processes.
• Plan data capacity, scalability, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Design data models for enterprise data warehouses.
• Mentor junior DBAs and coordinate third-party resources.
• Ensure license compliance and vendor relationships.
