Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Database Infrastructure Engineer (SQL Server / Azure) for a long-term contract in Atlanta. This hybrid role combines hands-on SQL Server administration with infrastructure automation to keep mission-critical databases performing at peak uptime.

You will design automated jobs and maintenance workflows, monitor performance, tune queries, and implement disaster recovery and high-availability strategies, including failover testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience administering MS SQL Server, Windows Server, and Azure.
• Advanced PowerShell and SSIS scripting ability.
• Solid grasp of storage, network architecture, and cloud infrastructure concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure for production incidents.

Responsibilities

• Manage and configure database infrastructure across Windows Server and Azure, including provisioning and permissions.
• Build and maintain automated database jobs, ETL workflows, and maintenance routines using PowerShell and SSIS.
• Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexing strategies to resolve bottlenecks proactively.

• Provide on-call support for production systems.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and applicable state data privacy regulations.
• Partner with application development teams on environment configuration, IIS administration, and security best practices.

This role combines hands‑on SQL Server administration with infrastructure automation — you'll design automated job scheduling, scripted maintenance workflows, and disaster recovery processes that keep mission‑critical systems running at peak uptime.

What You'll Do

• Manage and configure database infrastructure across Windows Server and Azure Cloud environments, including hardware/software provisioning and user permissions

• Build and maintain automated database jobs, ETL workflows, and maintenance routines using PowerShell and SSIS

• Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexing strategies to resolve bottlenecks proactively

• Maintain and test disaster recovery and high‑availability strategies, including failover testing

• Provide on‑call support for critical production systems

• Ensure compliance with data governance and applicable state data privacy regulations

• Partner with application development teams on environment configuration, IIS administration, and security best practices
