Job summary

J&T Business Consulting is seeking an experienced Database Engineer (Level 2) to design, model, and optimize large-scale databases at Fort Meade, MD. You will implement relational and object-oriented structures, build parsing and loading tools, and balance data flows with security and cloud/on-prem environments to support IOC and system acceptance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline plus 5+ years DB engineering experience on similar scope and complexity, OR 10 years DB engineering experience without a degree.
• Proven track record in schema architecture, data modeling, information storage/retrieval, and dataflow optimization.
• Demonstrated capability developing database parsing/loading software and automated data manipulation scripts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy relational and Object-Oriented databases.
• Develop custom database parser tools, data ingestion scripts, and automated loading software.
• Evaluate and trade off data volumes, distribution, latency, retention, and security domains.
