Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions is seeking a Database Engineer, Level 2 at Fort Meade, Maryland, to design, develop and optimize relational and object-oriented databases for mission-critical programs. You will ensure data integrity, high performance and seamless integration across the system architecture.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and a minimum of five years of DBE experience, along with a technical degree.

Qualifications

• Five years of DBE experience in programs of similar scope is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Five years of DBE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Support database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis.
• Support analysis and evaluation of system improvements and maintenance efforts.
• Develop long and short term requirements for database administration and design.
• Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
• Translate requirements into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries and scripts.
• Assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall system architecture.
• Lead development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture.
• Lead development of databases, database parser software, and loading software.
• Develop requirement recommendations from project inception to conclusion for a Business and IT area.
• Develop a database structure that balances data volumes, users, performance, retention and security.
