Job summary

J&T Business Consulting is seeking a Database Engineer (Level 2) with active TS/SCI clearance to support Fort Meade, MD. You will design and implement relational and object-oriented databases, build parsing and loading tools, and optimize data flows across cloud and on-prem environments.

The role requires strong SQL skills, data modeling expertise, and experience translating complex requirements into scalable database schemas, with a focus on performance, security, and lifecycle best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 years of Database Engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity, OR 10 years without a degree.
• Experience in schema architecture, data modeling, information storage/retrieval, and dataflow optimization.
• Capability developing database parsing/loading software, complex SQL queries, and automated data manipulation scripts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy relational and Object-Oriented databases for enterprise architectures.
• Develop custom database parser tools, data ingestion scripts, and automated loading software.
• Evaluate architectural trade-offs between data volumes, distribution, query times, retention, and security domains.
