About The Role

We are hiring a Sr. NoSQL Database Reliability Engineer to join our high-impact Data Services team. This role focuses on building and maintaining the critical infrastructure that powers our large-scale, cloud-native systems. You’ll work with data technologies like Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and more, while creating scalable automation that ensures performance, reliability, and resilience. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone passionate about data systems and automation in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and automate large-scale distributed data systems such as Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Zookeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
• Build and maintain infrastructure services supporting development teams in a DevOps environment
• Implement automation for configuration, monitoring, failover, and recovery using tools such as Chef, Salt, or Ruby scripts
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Support teams to resolve production issues rapidly and effectively
• Maintain security, availability, and scalability for petabytes of business-critical data
• Drive improvements in observability, fault tolerance, and recovery processes for database infrastructure
  
  

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with large-scale database systems, particularly Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and Zookeeper
• Proficiency in Ruby and experience with configuration management tools like Chef or Salt
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL in a production environment
• Proven success operating in large-scale, cloud-based environments, preferably on AWS
• Solid understanding of Linux-based systems and performance tuning
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a deep sense of ownership
• Ability to collaborate across local and distributed teams effectively
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
