Job summary

ELEVI in Maryland seeks a DBE specialist to lead database design, development, and integration for complex systems. You will directly influence schema design, data integrity and performance while coordinating with development teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Ten years of DBE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Five years of additional DBE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Extensive experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle Data Guard.
• Linux OS, Linux commands and Bash scripting experience.
• Nice to have: Mongo experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities.
• Support analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development and maintenance efforts.
• Develop databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
• Translate requirements into a usable database schema by creating or updating ad hoc queries and scripts.
• Lead development of database structures and databases that fit the system architecture.

To be an ELEVI team player you will need:

• You must hold a current Poly clearance
• Ten (10) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
• Extensive experience with installation and patching associated with Oracle Database, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Data Guard
• Linux OS, Linux Commands, Bash Scripting
• Nice to have: Mongo experience

Some of your day-to-day activities include but not limited to:

• Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities \\
• Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development and/or maintenance efforts
• Support the development of long and short term requirements for database administration and design
• Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software
• Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros, updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file
• Assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development
• Lead development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development
• Lead development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software
• Develop requirement recommendations from a projects inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems)
• Develop a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls
• Direct fulfillment of requirements from a projects inception to its conclusion
• Direct organization of requirements and data into a usable database schema by directing development of ad hoc queries, scripts, macros, updates to existing queries
• Direct the overall database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls
• Direct the development of complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$150,400 - $190,300
