Job summary

Concept Solutions, LLC is seeking a Database Engineer – PostgreSQL (AWS RDS) to support a mission-critical modernization program for a DoW customer. You will maintain and optimize PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS, plan migrations, and enhance performance and availability in a hybrid Reston, VA environment.

Responsibilities include backups verification, CDC configuration support, and collaboration with platform teams to sustain production operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with database migrations and performance tuning.
• Experience with Amazon RDS or equivalent managed database services.
• Experience with Debezium or PostgreSQL logical replication.

Job description

Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking a Database Engineer – PostgreSQL (AWS RDS) to support a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) customer.

This initiative will modernize and simplify access across a portfolio of production applications by creating a unified platform with single sign-on, a common user interface, and a repeatable approach for integrating applications. The program will also maintain and sustain existing applications to ensure operational continuity throughout modernization.

The Database Engineer will play an important role in maintaining and optimizing PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS, supporting database migrations, improving performance and availability, and collaborating with the platform engineering team.

• Manage application-level database administration for three PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS.
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning, and optimization activities.
• Verify database backups and support improvements to database availability and reliability, including a single-Availability Zone (AZ) instance.

Work Location and Schedule

• Location: Hybrid. Reston, VA headquarters and approved remote locations within the United States, with on-site work at Government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required. Government-furnished equipment will be used for all access to Government environments.
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The team operates in two-week sprints, with a customer demonstration each sprint.
• Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
• Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.
• Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 annual base salary, depending on experience.

This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated start in October 2026.
