Job summary

The Farm Credit System in Omaha, NE is hiring a Database Engineer to install, configure, monitor, and secure enterprise databases, including backup, patch management, and on-call support. You will participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, handle testing and deployments, and assist with reporting and related database processes.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of database management and development experience.
• Proficient with PL/SQL & T-SQL, SSIS, DTS, and database optimization.
• Experience with cloud database management on Azure or AWS.
• Architect complex databases to meet changing business needs.
• Proficient with SQL Server and Oracle tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, accurate database support and incident response.
• Participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation for critical database systems.
• Diagnose database issues, troubleshoot root causes, and implement resolutions.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures in tracking systems.
• Administer and maintain database environments for confidentiality, integrity, and performance.
• Develop and maintain automation for routine DBA tasks (monitoring, deployments, backups).
• Support migrations, environment refreshes, and DR planning.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business partners to meet service expectations.
