Socket.dev is seeking a Database Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Oracle, Linux, and Bash scripting for a TS/SCI with Poly role in Annapolis Junction, MD. The position is onsite with no travel and a day shift.

The role requires current TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph, strong experience with Oracle tools, Linux administration, and database design. Compensation is substantial and includes comprehensive benefits plans.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Data Guard.
• Proficient in Linux OS, Linux commands and Bash scripting.
• DoD 8570.01-M IA compliance with IAT Level II required.

Responsibilities

• Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities.
• Assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development.
• Lead development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
• Direct the overall database structure to balance data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.
• Translate requirements into a usable database schema by creating or updating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros.

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is 177K-188K(annualized USD).

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Capabilities

• Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities
• Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development and/or maintenance efforts
• Support the development of long and short term requirements for database administration and design
• Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software
  Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros, updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file
• Assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development

Requirements

• Extensive experience with installation and patching associated with:

• Experience in Information Assurance: DoD 8570.01-M compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II is required
