• Support performance, availability, data integrity, and recovery across systems.
• Navigate SPOT deployments and DOCPER requirements across multiple OCONUS areas.

Overview

MicroTech seeks a Database Engineer to engineer, administer, and sustain large-scale, highly available DoD healthcare databases supporting the global MEDEX/MEDXS mission. This key position supports database reliability, performance, integrity, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and administer database environments supporting military healthcare applications.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot database issues, and optimize resource utilization.
• Implement and validate backup, recovery, and high-availability capabilities.
• Manage approved database changes, access controls, and data migration activities.
• Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams and maintain database configuration and recovery documentation.
• Experience managing large-scale, highly available DoD healthcare databases.
• Ability to support database performance, availability, data integrity, and recovery.
• Proven experience managing personnel deployments, navigating the Synchronized Pre-deployment and Operational Tracker (SPOT), and coordinating host-nation theater clearance and DOCPER requirements across multiple OCONUS areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and a valid U.S. passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining on the first day of contract performance
• Assigned DCWF role: 421, Database Administrator, Intermediate
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Cloud + or GSEC or Sec+ or SSCP certification and 5 years’ experience minimum
• Applicable DoDM 8140.03 foundational qualifications must be satisfied before independently performing duties requiring privileged access or covered cybersecurity functions.

Mission Commitment

This is a Government-designated Key Personnel position requiring technical and OCONUS readiness on the first day of performance and continuity throughout the assignment.

Comp Band: $88K - $124K
