Job summary

CSS Inc. in the United States is seeking a Database Engineer with extensive experience in designing and maintaining high-availability databases and complex data models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated database administration experience including install, set up, patching, and upgrading of various database software.
• Extensive experience in database schema design and maintenance for high-volume transactional databases.
• Experience with both spatial and non-spatial data.
• On-site government agency support preferred; ability to pass a National Agency Check (NACI).

• Provide detailed analysis of database and database driven application problems and issues; troubleshoot and resolve issues as necessary.
• Consult with database and database-driven application end users, or proxies, to understand their goals and objectives.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle process, including with end users, product owners, and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Lead preparation of database design and data modeling documents and implementations to meet user goals.
• Participate in the development and implementation of new processes that improve efficiency and enhance productivity..
• Participate in software architecture working groups, including coverage of strategic topics such as cloud migration and secure coding and development infrastructure.
• May oversee or mentor junior engineers and team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated database administration experience, including install, set up, patching, and upgrading of various database software.
• Extensive experience in database schema design and maintenance, designing and tuning highly available and high-volume transactional databases, data replication and data migration tools and high-level knowledge of database engineering best practices.
• Extensive experience with both spatial and non-spatial data
• Prior experience with on-site government agency support preferred
• Ability to pass a National Agency Check (NACI) and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.
