Database Engineer

Location: US-VA-Home

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Database Engineer. This position will perform the following duties, but not limited to:

• Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, and install database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
• Works with application teams to define new solutions that interact with the database.
• Works with and creates scripts for database maintenance actions.
• Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
• Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements.
• Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
• Evaluates, sizes, and selects technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases.
• Writes and tunes SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Implements comprehensive backup and database replication solutions.

Qualifications

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with HS diploma
• Security+ Certification required.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Experience with development and maintenance of complex PL/SQL procedures and scripts spanning multiple databases.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to scope and responsibilities of position, individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
