Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software/Data Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing software systems, with a strong emphasis on Linux, Python, and cloud infrastructure.

You will work at a customer location on a full-time schedule requiring 1880 hours per year. Qualified candidates will have a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and substantial experience in cloud design, system engineering, and IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with extensive software engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Experience designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and similar platforms.
• Strong Linux and Python background.
• Experience in IT management and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document results.
• Utilize software development methodologies appropriate to the environment.
• Provide input to system design, including the use of COTS/GOTS in lieu of new development.
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance, consulting with users and engineers, and investigating issues.

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Software/Data Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a Software Data Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.

As a Software/Data Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements; review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements; and document test results. You will also utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the environment. You will provide specific input to the software components of system design to include the use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) / Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development. You will also develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas. #MDFSP #AJCM

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited college or university plus nineteen (19) years of Software Engineering experience; or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or appropriate field from an accredited college or university plus seventeen (17) years of Software Engineering experience; or
  • PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or appropriate field from an accredited college or university plus fourteen (14) years of Software Engineering experience; or
  • High School Diploma or GED plus twenty (20) years of Software Engineering experience
• Experience designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using Open Stack and other comparable platforms
• Strong Linux and Python background
• Understanding of IT management and operations
• Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
