Job summary

Centurum in San Diego, CA seeks a Database Developer (AWS) to provide SQL Server database engineering expertise across design, development, testing, deployment and documentation of current and future technologies. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Experience with AWS (CMDB) including PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, AWS services (ECS/EC2/ECR/ALB), Terraform, Docker, and AWS CodePipeline.
• Knowledge of Access database development with linked SQL Server tables, unbound forms, VBA, DAO/ADO.
• SQL Server Administration/Development: schema design, T‑SQL, stored procedures, views, indexing, reporting services, integration services.
• Basic networking skills.
• ASP.NET/Web development frameworks.
• Visual Studio 2022/DevOps.

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides SQL Server Database engineering expertise to support recommendations, designs, development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, installations, configurations, maintenance, and documentation required of current and future technologies.
• Significant experience developing business software solutions that help automate company workflow and tasks.
• Actively participate in and implement feedback from code reviews.
• Proactively identify product/systems enhancements which may improve tool appeal, process flow, and overall functionality and performance.
• Work well autonomously and within a team environment.
• Great team attitude and able to work comfortably with technical staff as well as business and non-technical individuals.

REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

1. AWS (CMDB): PostgreSQL (AWS RDS), Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, AWS (ECS, EC2, ECR, ALB, etc.), Terraform, Docker, AWS CodePipeline.
2. Knowledge and understanding of Access database development using linked SQL Server tables, unbound forms, VBA code, DAO/ADO.
3. SQL Server Administration/Development: Schema design, T‑SQL with stored procedures and views, Query Analyzer, Indexing, SQL scripting, User-defined functions/common table expressions, Application/Database roles, Reporting Services, Integration Services.
4. Basic networking skills.
5. ASP.NET/Frameworks Web Development.
6. Visual Studio 2022/Dev Ops.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

Travel Required: 0%.

Work Location: San Diego, CA.

This position is required to have and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• SEI CMMI ML 2 or 3 experience desirable.
• Good working knowledge of security best practices.

REMARKS

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.

Compensation: $55.32 - $64.04 an hour. Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
