Job summary

MSI Company in Fort Lauderdale seeks a SQL Server/Data Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain relational databases on SQL Server and Azure. You will build ETL/ELT workflows with SSIS/ADF, automate tasks with PowerShell/Python, and develop reports in SSRS and Power BI to support analytics across the organization.

The role requires 3+ years in production SQL Server, strong T-SQL, Azure data services, and fluent English. Local candidates only; sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing and administering Microsoft SQL Server databases in a production environment.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and/or Azure Data Factory for data integration and reporting.
• Experience automating database tasks using PowerShell and/or Python.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, or other Microsoft Azure data services.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Working familiarity with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report/dashboard development).
• Working knowledge of data modeling, normalization, and database design best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain relational databases, schemas, and objects on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes using SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory to move and transform data across systems
• Maintain and occasionally extend a small number of Azure Functions used in data movement and integration
• Develop scripts and automation (PowerShell, Python) for ETL, database maintenance, deployments, and monitoring tasks
• Tune, and troubleshoot database performance, including indexing strategy, query plans, and resource utilization
• Support database security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery procedures in line with enterprise policy
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI, including data model and DAX support for BI developers
• Document database designs, data flows, and standard operating procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Vice President of Data Architecture and Machine Learning, you will work inside an existing, live Azure data estate, modifying stored procedures and schemas across multiple databases and maintaining the data integration processes that support reporting, transactional systems, and downstream analytics across the organization.

• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning
• Working familiarity with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report/dashboard development)

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
