Job summary

HireTeq is seeking an experienced SQL Database Developer (.Net / C#) to join our Fort Mill, SC onsite team for a 6 month contract-to-hire engagement. The role blends application development with deep SQL and database engineering, including design, tuning, and data integration across customer-facing and internal platforms.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of web development experience with HTML5, Node.js, React, and strong SQL Server expertise, plus deployment and build tooling experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of web development with HTML5, Node.js, React and modern JS frameworks.
• 2+ years as a build and deployment engineer using industry-standard tools.
• Experience with C#, .NET and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, MSSQL, MySQL).
• Experience writing complex SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, views, triggers.
• Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of Git and system architecture.
• Agile/Scrum experience considered a plus.

Job Title: SQL Database Developer (.Net / C#)
Location: Fort Mill, SC (Onsite - South-Side Charlotte, NC)
Duration: 6 months Contract to hire

Position Objective

The Software Engineer SQL delivers high-quality, scalable software solutions and data-driven applications that support critical business operations. This role combines application development with strong SQL and database engineering expertise, including database design, query optimization, performance tuning, and data integration. The engineer partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to develop reliable, secure, and efficient solutions across customer-facing and internal platforms.

Education & Experience

• 50 60% Application Development + 40 50% SQL/Database Engineering
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or other relevant engineering field or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of web development experience with HTML5, Node.js, React, and other modern JavaScript frameworks
• 2+ years of recent experience as a build and deployment engineer using industry-standard tools
• Experience developing enterprise applications using C#, .NET, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational database technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, MSSQL, MySQL, or similar platforms.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, views, triggers, and database functions.
• Experience with database performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting production database issues.
• Understanding of database design principles, normalization, data modeling, and data integrity best practices.
• Knowledge working closely with Git
• Understanding of industry-standard system architecture and system management tools
• Experience supporting and documenting build and configuration changes throughout environments
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development cycle environments a plus
