Job summary

NISC is seeking a Database Conversion (ETL) Programmer to deliver high-quality data conversion solutions for utility and broadband Member projects. You will design, execute, and validate complex data conversions using Oracle/SQL/PL/ETL tools such as Pentaho Data Integration, in a Unix/Linux environment.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with offices in Lake St. Louis, MO and Mandan, ND, and opportunities to grow in scope and ownership while supporting communities through innovative software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer/IT or equivalent experience.
• Experience with data conversion projects or ETL.
• Ability to work with relational databases and ETL tools.

Position Overview

As a Database Conversion (ETL) Programmer, you are a key contributor responsible for delivering high‑quality data conversion solutions for utility and broadband Member projects. In this role, you work closely with project managers and stakeholders to design, execute, and validate complex data conversions that directly support successful system implementations.

You will apply and deepen your expertise in technologies such as Oracle (or other relational databases), SQL, PL/SQL, ETL tools like Pentaho Data Integration (PDI), Unix/Linux, and Microsoft tools to solve real‑world data challenges. Work Schedule

• Hybrid (afteran initialtraining period) from one of these office locations:
  • Lake St. Louis, MO
  • Mandan, ND
• Hybrid Schedule: Minimum of working 3 days per week in the office and ability to work up to all 5 days a week in the office, as needed
• Required Days from an Office Location: Tuesday and Wednesday - the third required day will be up to the candidate and their supervisor to choose

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderate level research, design and conversion of Member/Customer data to NISC platforms.
• Perform basic conversion fixes regarding data issues for Member/customers and recommends changes or enhancements as directed.
• Assist with basic data analysis and mapping to translate into sound conversion approaches.
• Follow all established conversion methodologies and guidelines.
• Perform basic quality testing including data validation, verification and balancing.
• Perform frequent communication with internal and external team and project stakeholders.
• Ensure that all information is appropriately entered and utilized in NISC's internal issue tracking tool.
• Leverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role.

Education Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in a computer/IT related field or relevant experience.
