Job summary

Trigyn Technologies, Inc. in Albany, NY seeks a Database Architect to lead analysis, design, and optimization of enterprise databases across Sybase, SQL Server, and DB2.

You will drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and data warehouse integration in z/OS LUW environments, collaborating with data management, business users, and development teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Determines database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviews objectives with clients; evaluates current systems; provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
• Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
• 84 months experience installing and configuring Sybase and SQL Server.
• 84 months experience monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning measures for Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• 84 months experience managing and implementing database maintenance (reorgs, statistics, ensuring database is running optimally) in a server environment with Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• 84 months experience documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for Sybase and SQL Server Databases in a server environment.
• 84 months experience applying upgrades and security patches to critical operational databases.
• 84 months experience using Erwin to create and maintain data models.
• 84 months experience with Tableau or Cognos Analytics.
• 84 months experience with data migration and conversion in relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for analysis, design, support, development and reengineering of database structures in Sybase, SQL Server and DB2.
• Provide performance analysis and tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, benchmark design.
• Design data synchronization from operational data stores to a zLinux DB2 data warehouse.
• Plan and manage interfaces between z/OS LUW DB2 applications, data warehouse, Cognos, Identity Insight, and DataStage.
• Liaise among Data Management, business customers, and development teams to ensure performance considerations are included.
• Create cost-effective DB solutions aligned to strategic business needs using data structures and coding techniques.

Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for Database Architect in Albany, NY.

Description

• Responsible for analysis, design, support, development and reengineering of database structures in Sybase, SQL Server and DB2.
• Provide performance analysis and tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, benchmark design.
• Design methodologies for data synchronization from operational data stores Design methodologies for data synchronization from various operational data stores (Mainframe DB2, Windows SQL Server, Sybase on Solaris, DB2 on AIX and OpenShift) to a zLinux DB2 data warehouse.
• Planning, interfacing, and usage between z/OS and LUW DB2 application databases, data warehouse, Cognos, Identity Insight, and DataStage.
• Act as liaison between Data Management, business customers, and application development staff to ensure that recommended performance considerations are included in reviews, designs, development, and implementation of applications.
