Job summary

B2Bnetwork is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Administrator to support migration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Google Cloud. The role covers traditional and cloud-native workloads, with emphasis on reliability, security, and compliance across enterprise environments.

You will migrate on-prem databases to Google Cloud, tune performance, upgrade systems, and assist applications during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience in enterprise environments.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, tuning, and configuration.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with database migrations from on-prem to cloud.

Responsibilities

Support the migration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Google Cloud, enabling reliable and compliant database services for both traditional and cloud‑native workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Migrate PostgreSQL databases from on‑premises platforms to Google Cloud
• Support PostgreSQL running on VM‑based and/or managed cloud services
• Perform database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and optimization
• Support onboarding of applications to PostgreSQL platforms
• Troubleshoot incidents and support change and release activities
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and application stakeholders
• Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles

Must‑have knowledge and experience

• Strong hands‑on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA / Database Engineer
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance, and configuration
• Experience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud
• Hands‑on experience with database migrations (on‑prem → cloud)
• Understanding of replication, backup, recovery, and HA concepts
• Experience working in enterprise / regulated environments

Nice‑to‑have knowledge and experience

• Experience with PostgreSQL managed services and Google Cloud infrastructure
• Automation and scripting experience
• Familiarity with cloud security and compliance requirements
