Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Database Administrator III in Plano, TX for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on MS SQL Server administration, AlwaysOn high availability, performance tuning, and production support.

The candidate will design, implement, and optimize complex SQL Server solutions, lead initiatives, and automate operational tasks, including TigerGraph environments. Strong scripting (Shell, Python) and Linux skills are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of MS SQL Server Administration in large environments.
• Expertise in AlwaysOn high availability, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Linux administration and scripting (Shell, Python).
• Experience automating operations, monitoring, and maintenance for TigerGraph environments.

• Lead and manage multiple moderately complex projects and initiatives with minimal supervision.

• Perform in-depth analysis of data and environments to select appropriate methods and techniques for solutions.
• Provide work leadership by assigning tasks and resolving technical problems as needed.
• Automate operational tasks, monitoring, and maintenance activities, including for TigerGraph environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in MS SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and high availability and a proven ability to design, implement, and optimize complex database solutions while leading initiatives to operational excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on MS SQL Server Administration in large, high-tier environments.
• Expertise in AlwaysOn high availability, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proven delivery in project-driven environments with minimal supervision and strong ownership.
• Prior banking industry experience, preferably as an Application DBA.
• Proficiency with Linux administration and scripting (Shell, Python).
• Experience automating operations, monitoring, and maintenance for TigerGraph (NoSQL) environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment within defined practices and policies.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with hybrid work environments requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, automation frameworks, and SDLC in regulated environments.
